About Me

I was born in 1946 the same year as three US Presidents, William Jefferson Clinton, George W Bush, and Donald Trump. I am by default a first boomer, I was in the first wave of babies born after WWII and apparently part of the victory celebration. As to similarities between myself and the others mentioned in this paragraph, none of us served in the major war of our generation, Viet Nam 1965-1975. I did serve in the US Army in 1970-1971 and came out a Captain, a remarkable achievement considering I didn’t really do much to obtain that rank other than join ROTC at Kent State University in 1968. I will write more about that in a later post because while I really can’t claim any great victories in the Service it defined my life more than I could ever have imagined.

By career, I was an investment banker for 35 years, now retired, trying to use what years I have remaining to wander the world and record with feeling and purpose all that I see. I use both the written word as well as the camera. This website will generally be a photo website, but I will attempt clarify the images that I include with words.

I do not have a photography background but I had a father who was a hobby photographer and chronicler of life, so maybe somewhere in my chromosomes there is an archival gene that pushes me to do this project.

If it matters, and it shouldn’t, my work should speak for itself, but I have a bachelors degrees in business from Kent States University in 1970 (yes the year of the Kent State Killings, more about that further on). I have a Masters from what is now called the John Glenn School of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University and only because I like school I have another Masters Degree in Business from what is now called the Fisher School of Business at The Ohio State University. Yes no MFA although I thought about it at one point.
